Labour Market Inclusion Division

From the 6th July 2009 the Ethnic Minority Employment Team split off from the old Area Initiatives and Community Division, and was incorporated into a wider new division, the Labour Market Inclusion Division.

Work in relation to the disadvanteged groups, such as people with drug and alcohol problems, homeless people, ex-offenders, care leavers, ex-regulars, Gypsies and travellers, refugees and the European Social Incusion agenda as well as ethnic minorities will come into one combined division, therefore bringing alignment across all these topics.

This will ensure focus is maintained on the labour market inclusion agenda during more difficult economic times and whilst we work with others to ensure the needs of the groups we represent are met via the mainstreaming and localisation agendas. To drive forward our agendas we will continue to work with colleagues on other teams and other Government Departments as well as providing Secretariat for the Ethnic Minority Employment Task Force and the Ethnic Minority Advisory Group as well as any projects or other groups set up by these

The new division is led by Janet Hill as Deputy Director.
