The Ethnic Minority Advisory Group has been set up to provide support to the Ethnic Minority Employment Task Force and comprises representatives from education, voluntary and community groups, training providers, faith groups and employers.
The two broad objectives of the Ethnic Minority Advisory Group are
The group will provide advice to the Task Force on what is likely to work best for ethnic minority communities; it will look at initiatives being planned to provide advice on whether they might be refined to work even better with ethnic minority communities; it will examine existing policies to advise if they are working as intended and it will prove a more general source of advice and guidance based on the experiences of the membership.
Membership of EMAG is voluntary and the group meets at least quarterly and comprises representatives from education, voluntary and community groups, training providers, faith groups and employers.
The Ethnic Minority Advisory Group is taking forward the work of the Stakeholder Group and the National Employment Panel's Minority Ethnic Group.
